For most of us, we share the holidays with family and friends, watching our own children or the children of our family and friends’ open gifts. Unfortunately, this is not the case for some Fort Myers children in foster care currently categorized as “unidentified placements”, making what would be an exciting time a difficult one.
In the spirit of giving back to our communities and the people within them, our Fort Myers office continues a proud tradition of helping those in need. The group worked with Lutheran Services Florida Central and Children’s Network of SWFL. Both organizations are dedicated to serving those most vulnerable members of our communities by providing life-changing services. During this time of year, they are making sure children living in group housing within the foster care system are taken care during the holiday season.
Two Christmas trees were on display in the Alta Resources Fort Myers front lobby with dozens of Wish Cards as ornaments. These Wish Cards had gift suggestions for girls and boys, as well as their ages. The Wish Cards, between the two trees, helped provide multiple Christmas gifts for 50 children (34 girls and 16 boys)! In addition to this year’s gifts, the Fort Myers office also collected deodorants, soaps and other personal hygiene products for the children and teens.
Our Fort Myers employees are continuing the great giving spirit of all of our offices across the globe. Personifying the very essence of our outreach program AltaHOPE: Helping Others Prevail Everywhere which advocates community involvement to make a difference in the lives of those around us. We are proud to have so many generous hearts at Alta Resources.
