Alta Resources Joins the World’s Largest Corporate Sustainability Initiative

September 24, 2024

We’re proud to announce that Alta Resources has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative. By becoming a participant, we’re further committing to align our strategies and day-to-day operations with universal principles in human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

Jim Beré, CEO of Alta Resources commented, “Responsible business practices are important to us, and joining the UN Global Compact was a natural next step to live our guiding principles of integrity and community through our commitment to sustainability and creating a positive impact in the communities we serve. We’re excited to be part of a global network that’s working to build a better future for people and the planet, and we’re looking forward to contributing to this shared mission.”

The UN Global Compact connects over 20,000 companies from more than 160 countries, representing nearly every sector and size. Companies choose to participate in this initiative to demonstrate their dedication to responsible business practices, particularly in areas like human rights, labor practices, environmental responsibility, and fighting corruption. These principles, rooted in international declarations like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Convention Against Corruption, guide us as we aim to do business in a way that benefits both people and the planet.

As a new member of this global network, Alta Resources is joining forces with businesses and stakeholders around the world to create a more sustainable future. Participating in the UN Global Compact reinforces our commitment to making responsible choices, both locally and globally, that will drive long-term success for the communities we serve. We’re also playing our part in advancing sustainability goals adopted by world leaders in 2015 to tackle challenges like poverty, inequality, and climate change. These goals outline a clear path to a more sustainable and equitable future by 2030. At Alta Resources, we’re committed to contributing to this global effort by turning these big-picture goals into real, meaningful actions that make an impact.

As a participant in the UN Global Compact, we’re gaining access to a wealth of resources, best practices, and a global network of like-minded businesses. This will help us keep growing and improving how we approach sustainability in our daily operations and long-term plans. Beré added, “We’re excited about the opportunities this partnership brings, and we look forward to sharing our success stories as we work alongside other participants to develop innovative solutions that benefit everyone. Alta Resources is proud to be part of the UN Global Compact, and we’re ready to continue our journey toward a more sustainable future for all.”
